The 'Mission' of ussbrinkleybassdd887.com is ever-changing.  This 'Mission Statement' is what we see as valid on this day, September 10, 2006.  The following is what we hope to do and what we hope ussbrinkleybassdd887.com will become.

Mission One

 1.  ussbrinkleybassdd887.com is the 'Official' Web Site of the USS Brinkley Bass DD-887 Association.

2.  As the 'Official' Web Site,  ussbrinkleybassdd887.com will provide the 'Tools' necessary to 'Facilitate' the 'Computerization' and 'Web Enabling' of the 'Administrative' and 'Operational'  'Processes' of the USS Brinkley Bass DD-887 Association.

Mission Two

1.  Provide a 'Conduit' through which all Bass Veterans can share their individual Bass Stories and Experiences with each other.

2.  Provide a 'Conduit' through which all Bass Veterans can share their individual Bass Stories and Experiences with their children, grand children, family and friends.

3.  Provide a 'Safe Link' through which all Bass Veterans can communicate and/or collaborate with all other Bass Veterans.

4.  Provide a 'Memory Jar' in which all Bass Veterans can deposit and from which they all can withdraw memories and memorabilia.

5.  Provide a 'Scratchpad' or 'Chalkboard' on which the 55 year long Bass Story can be told.

6.  Identify (Find) as many of the thousands of Bass Veterans as possible over the next 5 years and encourage all 'Found'  Bass Vets to 'Add To' the 'Duty Roster' and then share their own Bass Stories and share their own unique Bass Experiences with the already 'Found' Bass Veterans.
